Connect Moodle

Find your school or university

In Connect, type the name of your school or university, or paste the address of your campus site, the one you see in the browser's address bar when you are inside. Profesia works out whether it is a Moodle.

If you sign in with a username and password

Type the username and password you use to sign in to your Moodle. Profesia uses them only once, to ask Moodle for the same permission its mobile app asks for, and does not keep them.

If you sign in through your school's or university's page

If you sign in to Moodle through your school's or university's page (for example, with your Microsoft or Google account), connect with the Moodle app's key. First, if you have never used it, install the Moodle app on your phone and sign in once with your campus address. Then, in Moodle, open the menu with your name > Preferences > Security keys, copy the «Moodle mobile web service» one and paste it into Profesia.

If that key does not show after signing in to the app once, your school or university has app access turned off or your user lacks permission: ask your Moodle administrator. The key expires (after 12 weeks, unless your institution changes it): then connect again.

With your teacher account

Connect with the account you teach with. An account that administers the Moodle gives Profesia more permissions than it needs.

What you can do afterwards

You see your courses, your assignments and your students' submissions, and the AI proposes a grade and a comment. If your Moodle allows it, you post the grades you approve; if not, you copy them and enter them in Moodle's grader. Some sections are not ready for Moodle yet: each course tells you which.

Before anything goes to the AI, the names and emails on your class list are replaced by pseudonyms.

Withdrawing the permission

In Moodle, under Preferences > Security keys, click «Reset» next to «Moodle mobile web service». Profesia can no longer get in until you connect again.
