The AI drafts the grading. You decide the grade.

Profesia reads the submissions in your Canvas or Moodle and suggests a grade for each criterion of your rubric and a comment. For universities, secondary schools and primary schools.

Paper 2: report on campus water use

Submission by Student 12

For universities, secondary schools and primary schools

Profesia reads the submissions on your virtual campus (papers, essays, reports, lab work or code) and drafts a grade for each criterion of your rubric plus a comment for the student. You review it, change whatever you like and post it to Canvas or Moodle. Nothing reaches your students without your approval.

Here the example is a report; it works the same with essays, case studies, worked problems, lab reports or code.

For teachers at universities, secondary schools (ESO, Bachillerato and FP) and primary schools (nursery and primary). It works with Universidad Europea's virtual campus and with any Canvas or Moodle.

Free, no card needed. The example class doesn't use any AI uses; once you connect your campus you get 30 a month.

Everything you can do

Grading is at the centre; around it, what you do with your class every week. All on your campus, without switching tools.

Highlighted: the AI does it, and you review it before it counts.

  • AI suggestion The AI proposes a grade for each criterion and a comment, for one submission or all of them.
  • Rubric or requirements list Your campus rubric or, if there is none, the AI draws a checklist from the brief.
  • Your grading style The AI learns how you grade so its comments sound like you.
  • Anchors A well-graded submission as the model, so every one is measured alike.
  • Review and explain The AI rereads your comment and explains the grade to the student in plain words.
  • Rehearsal The AI grades three made-up students to test your rubric before you start.
  • Paper exams Upload the scans and the AI proposes a grade for each exam; you grade question by question.
  • Similarities between submissions Compares the submissions with each other, without AI and without accusing anyone.
  • Programming assignments Run your tests on each submission's code and see who did what in Git.
  • Oral defence questions The AI prepares questions so the student explains their work in person.
  • Post to your campus Only what you approve, after seeing how the student will get it.

  • Today and your week Your classes, what is due and what is left to grade, at a glance.
  • Late What came in late or has not come in: extensions, resits and reminders.
  • Students and records How each student is doing, and a printable record that backs every grade.
  • Gradebook and assessment Every grade in one table; the AI takes the assessment weights from your guide or programme.
  • Attendance and in class Take the register from your phone and note what went well and what to improve.
  • Groups Create and fill your campus groups, and change them when needed.
  • Class report The AI writes the report on how the class is doing, for an assessment or a meeting.
  • Learning outcomes The AI reads the guide and proposes the learning outcomes each criterion measures.
  • Resits and support Once the grades are in, the AI designs the resit or a support plan.

  • Messages Your campus inbox; the AI drafts a reply.
  • Message those who… A message only to those who have not handed in or are below a grade; the AI drafts it.
  • Announcements Notices to the class; the AI drafts one if you want.
  • Assistant Ask in your own words; the AI prepares what you ask for and shows you before doing it.

  • Exams and mock exams The AI generates an exam from your syllabus or imports one; you review it and send it to your campus or to Word.
  • Create assignments The AI suggests ideas and writes the assignment; you review it and take it to your campus.
  • Review the assignment brief The AI looks for what could be read two ways in the brief.
  • Syllabus and pacing The AI plans the course from the learning guide or teaching programme and tells you whether you are on pace.
  • Calendar Due dates, exams and classes in one calendar.
  • Course copies Bring a course into the new term or download it, even from another institution.

  • Pseudonyms The names and emails on your class list are replaced before they reach the AI.
  • What the AI received Every request as it left, with the names struck out.
  • No AI Turn the AI off in any course you like.
  • Your oversight How often you agree with the AI when grading blind, so you never over-trust it.
  • Your details Download or delete them whenever you like.

  • Canvas and Moodle With either one, and several institutions in the same account.
  • University, secondary or primary school You choose your stage and the app speaks like your school: teaching programme, assessment criteria and an example class at your level.
  • Universidad Europea Press its button and connect with our guide in about 3 minutes.
  • Institution plan With your institution signed up, you connect with one button and no key; it can ask for the data processing agreement (DPA).

How it works

The same at a university, a secondary school or a primary school, with Canvas or Moodle.

  1. Connect your campus.

At the Universidad Europea, you press its button and copy an access key from your campus: about 3 minutes, with our guide. Other Canvas and Moodle sites, a few minutes more.

  2. Open an assignment.

You see who has submitted and what is left to grade.

  3. The AI suggests.

A grade for each criterion of your rubric and a comment for each student, as a draft.

  4. You decide.

You change, approve or discard each proposal.

  5. Post to your campus.

Grades and comments, when you say so.

The AI never posts on its own.

Your students go under a pseudonym

  • Before anything goes to the AI, the names and emails on your class list are replaced by pseudonyms.
  • The AI is Claude, by Anthropic (United States); what it receives and with what safeguards is in the list of processors.
  • You can see the exact text that was sent, in Settings > Privacy.
  • You can turn the AI off in a course with “No AI”.
  • Your data is yours: download it or delete it from Your account whenever you like.

Frequently asked questions

Does the AI grade for me?

No. It suggests a grade and a comment as a draft; nothing counts or gets posted until you approve it. You can change all of it, or turn the AI off for a course.

Does it work for my subject?

Yes, at any stage and in any subject: university (engineering, health, business, law, humanities…), secondary school and primary school. The AI grades with your rubric and your criteria, not with a template for one field. It reads text, PDF, Office documents, code and images: reports, essays, case studies, worked problems, notebooks or lab reports.

Does it work for secondary and primary schools?

Yes. When you start you choose your stage: university, secondary school or primary school. Profesia uses your words (teaching programme and assessment criteria instead of learning guide) and the AI writes comments in your stage's tone: closer and shorter in primary school.

Can I use it with my students' data?

The names and emails on your Canvas roster are replaced by pseudonyms before anything leaves. The text of submissions goes pseudonymised to Anthropic, in the United States, which does not use it to train its models. If a student signs with a nickname inside the text, that is not replaced.

You can turn the AI off in a course with “No AI”, and your institution can ask for the data processing agreement (DPA) with the Institution plan. What each provider receives is in the list of processors.

Does it work with my school or university?

Yes, if it uses Canvas or Moodle. If you teach at the Universidad Europea, when you connect you click its button and Profesia guides you to create your access key.

Can I try it without an account?

Yes. Try a submission right here, no account needed, or open the example class when you sign up: made-up data, and it doesn't use any AI uses.

Is this a Universidad Europea service?

No. Profesia is not a Universidad Europea service. You connect with your own campus account and only see what you already see there.

What is the Canvas access key, and is it safe?

It is a long code you create in your Canvas so Profesia can read your courses (Canvas calls it a “token”). We keep it encrypted, use it only for your Canvas, and you delete it whenever you like. How to create it.

Does my institution have to register?

No need. If it does, you give permission with a button and need no access key.

Which AI does it use? Do I need a key?

Claude, by Anthropic, included in your plan: “standard AI” and “advanced AI” are its lighter and more capable models. You need no key or account anywhere else.

What is a use?

Grading a submission with the AI costs 1 use, or 2 if it is long or the AI reasons a lot. Exams and conversations with the assistant cost several. What you have spent is always in “AI used this month”.

Can I cancel?

Yes, from Billing, in two clicks. You keep your plan until the end of the paid period and then go back to Free, without losing anything.

What happens to my data if I leave?

You download a copy and delete your account from Your account. Everything is deleted.
